Premier Promises To Look At Policing Costs

Ontario’s Premier says municipal concerns about policing costs in the northwest are at the top of her agenda.
Speaking with our sister station CFOB News in Fort Frances, Kathleen Wynne stated a new committee is looking at how to contain costs.
Wynne says provincial officials will engage with the Ontario Provincial Police, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Police Services Board.
No time frame has been given as to when the team will bring forward recommendations.
The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association is accepting a resolution from Fort Frances Council calling on the province to provide more financial support.
