A variety of speakers including young local hockey players, medical professionals and hockey legend Ken Dryden are tackling the concerning issue of head injuries.
A symposium on concussions is being held Saturday at 1 o’clock at the Centre in Dryden.
The event is free and is meant to raise more awareness of the seriousness of head injuries.
Sarah Lawrynuik is organizing the symposium and she says Ken Dryden inspired her to take action.
She says in 50 years people will look back and say why didn’t we tackle this issue earlier.
Lawrynuink says the recent events involving Chris Pronger and his head injury as well as her younger brother enterting contact hockey prompted her to organize the event.
