Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story has climbed to the No. 1 spot on Canada’s Top 10 Shows chart on Netflix since its release on Sept. 17.
Based on true events, the series follows notorious Lizzie Borden, who was accused of the axe murders of her parents back in 1892. While no one really knows for certain whether Lizzie committed the crimes, historical evidence seems to point in that direction.
Ella Beatty stars as Lizzie Borden, alongside Vicky Krieps as the Borden’s maid, Bridget “Maggie” Sullivan. Charlie Hunnam plays Lizzie’s dad, Andrew Borden, while Rebecca Hall portrays her stepmom, Abby Borden. The rest of the cast includes Billie Lourd as Lizzie’s older sister, Emma; Jessica Barden as Lizzie’s actor friend, Nance O ‘Neil; and Sarah Paulson as Aileen Wuornos.
This is not the first Monster anthology series that Netflix has put out. Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Monster: The Erik and Lyle Menendez Story and Monster: The Ed Gein Story are a few other successful releases.
So, will you be watching this newly released horror story over the weekend?
