The cost of developing an open pit mine at a gold project north of Barwick is going to be over $713-million.
Rainy River Resources says the figure was determined in a feasibility study.
It also forecasts costs for underground operations at $162-million.
The study identifies at least 400 jobs during the construction phase and as many as 600 jobs when the two mines are in full swing.
The project is currently going through the environment assessment process.
The company’s confident that once all of the regulatory measures are complete, construction will begin near the fall of 2014.
