Project Sunset had youth out on canoes yesterday at Thunder Lake in Dryden!
The Project aims at getting kids out and active, as well as build social skills and a sense of community.
Project Co-ordinator Sgt. Anne McCoy mentions that the program creates a positive environment for kids and teaches them valuable life lessons to better prepare them for a successful future.
Participant Marcel Boyer says the program helped teach him valuable skills like teamwork, kindness and responsibility.
Another Participant Dakota Catlin mentions that she has made a lot of friends and says she is talking to more people now.
Anne McCoy says the program is amazing since it provides the kids with an environment that is safe and fun, and can also teach harder life lessons like knowing how to handle failure and turning it into success.
McCoy also says these projects are just starting to take off in Canada.
