An Aboriginal Trades and Employment Symposium was held this afternoon at the Center in Dryden.
Those interested were able to take a look at displays by 15 different trade unions across Northwestern Ontario, as well as education opportunities.
Coordinator of the Sioux Lookout Aboriginal Management Board Bob Bruyere says it’s a great opportunity for Aboriginal people.
President of Northwestern Ontario Building Construction Trades Terry Webb says it’s a great chance to show young people the importance of completing grade 12, and the skills that are needed for upcoming jobs in Northwestern Ontario.
15 trade unions were present, including Domtar and Goldcorp.
