Local anglers take note, restrictions may soon be in place on how you
can fish.
The Federal Government is considering banning most lures that contain
lead content.
The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters is fighting the plan
and Spokesperson Robert Pye says the move is absurd and un-called for.
Pye says anglers may soon see half their tackle box gone.
He notes the move is based on junk science and questionable motives.
The feds maintain the proposal is aimed at protecting the countries
loon population.
Pye believes the government should stop picking on the fishing
industry and concentrate on real pollutants.
He adds the proposal would deliver a devastating blow to the sport
fishing industry.
