Six Northern Ontario aboriginal leaders jailed over a dispute with a mining exploration company won a temporary
release Friday but are willing to return if the Province doesn’t change the Mining Act.
Big Trout Lake First Nation Chief Donny Morris says he’s prepared to breach the injunction that landed him in jail, if things don’t change.
The temporary release means the 6 leaders will join a massive protest at the Legislature today aimed pressing the
Government to allow First Nations communities to say no to forestry and mining companies.
The members of the KI First Nation will return to court Thursday to appeal their 6 month jail sentence.
Protest Planned at Legislature Monday
