Aboriginal leaders in the North say a reported police plan to crack
down on protesters is threatening an already fragile relationship with first
nations.
Big Trout Lake Spokesperson John Cutfeet says it’s distressing to know
that Canadian authorities are willing to deal aggressively with protesters.
A number of aboriginal representatives from across the far north were
in Toronto this week to speak out against the jailing of 6 KI band
leaders.
A similar protest was also held in Kenora on Saturday.
