Protocol To Protect Children

Police, child welfare agencies and the Crown Attorney in Northwestern Ontario have come together to protect children.
A new protocol has been developed to investigate allegations of children in need of protection from child abuse or neglect.
O-P-P Sgt. Debora Tully-Waffler of the Northwest Region Crime Unit says the protocol is being designed to ensure the prompt identification, reporting and investigation of all such cases.
She adds the protocol also calls for agencies to respond to such situations in a timely, effective, comprehensive and compassionate manner.
