Province Adding Treatment Beds In North

A couple of agencies in northwestern Ontario will be getting some additional funding from the province for aboriginal treatment and healing programs.

The Ministry of Community and Social Services says it plans to open 50-new residential treatment beds.

A total of 10 agencies are eligible for the funding, including the Kenora Health Access Center, Nishnawbe Aski Nation and Fort Frances Tribal Health Services.

A ministry spokesperson says they are still working with the agencies to determine the level of funding they will be eligible for.
