Province Addressing Jury Rolls

The Liberal Government is defending itself following the halting of a public inquiry into the deaths of 7 aboriginal youth in Thunder Bay.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell called for immediate action last week at Queen’s Park.
Minister of Aboriginal Affairs David Zimmer says the Chief Coroner wants to ensure the government covers all concerns.
Zimmer says First Nations should be participating in criminal, civil and coroner jury’s.
Zimmer notes he personally met with the victims families during this time last year in Thunder Bay.
Minister of Children and Services Tracy MacCharles adds they are currently developing an aboriginal youth-children strategy to transform how services are designed and delivered.
