The Rainy River District School Board has received the funding it needs to consolidate its two schools in Atikokan.
$23-million in provincial funding will be used in the development of a new Kindergarten-Grade 12 school on the site of the current Atikokan High School.
The school will house about 417 students, with a scheduled opening for September, 2020.
The facility will include 49 new child care spaces along with a child and family room.
