The Minister of Transportation is ducking questions about the state of roads in the region.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell says culverts were replaced on area highways recently, but the MTO hasn’t bothered to pave over those sections of highway.
Campbell says the sections where the culverts have been replaced have been filled with gravel, which has resulted in potentially dangerous driving conditions.
Transportation Minister Steve Del Duca is promising to work with Campbell on the issue, but gave no time table as to when the paving work would be carried out.
