Province Hoping For Labour Peace With Teachers

Teacher talks are resuming as the province looks to avoid any disruptions in the classroom next month.

The Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association is back at the bargaining table this week, but will be in a legal strike position as early as next week.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation, which represents public high school teachers, says negotiations are set for August 18th and 19th.

Premier Kathleen Wynne remains optimistic a deal can be reached with teachers unions before the start of a new school year.

Wynne admits she’s anxious about the state of talks.

She adds she won’t get involved in negotiations.
