An online tool is being launched by the provincial government to help students continue their learning during the two week COVID-19 break starting Monday.
Premier Doug Ford says the ‘Learn at Home’ portal offers all students high-quality, made-in-Ontario math and literacy resources, created by Ontario-certified educators, in both English and French.
Ford notes it’s an interactive tool that is in line with their Grades K-12 curriculum.
“It includes a focus on the basics so kids can practice their reading and writing and learn math and science skills.”
There is also a high school component to help students reinforce their skills and competencies.
Ford says certified tutors will be available through TVO to assist students during the process.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says if the school shutdown lasts more than two weeks, he will introduce the second phase of their plan.
Lecce says work is underway to find solutions for students who do not have online access at home.
