The provincial government is conducting a sweeping review of mining safety in the province.
Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle says the review will include a wide range of areas.
Gravelle says they want to look at current health and safety regulations as well as enforcement mechanisms.
He says starting early next year, the province’s Chief Prevention Officer will lead an advisory group of industry, labour, and health and safety representatives to begin the sweeping review.
Gravelle says the review will start in January.
