Province Makes It Easier For Property Zoning Appeals

Municipal Affairs Minister Bill Mauro says new rules will help reduce the red tape in getting property zoning appeals decided by the province.

The Wynne government has passed a new law to replace the Ontario Municipal Board.

Mauro says local municipalities have been asking for changes in order to speed up development.

The Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP says we will now see faster and more consistent decision making.

Mauro says historically a number of appeals that have gone to the OMB, have taken a very long time to come through.
