Province Now Sitting On Sideline In Thunder Bay Events Centre Saga

Don’t expect the provincial government to go it alone in funding an event centre or arena for Thunder Bay.
Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle has repeated the province’s stand there has to be matching federal dollars for the project.
Gravelle says now that the feds are pulling out, the ball is in the city’s court to find out what the next step will be.
He says with no federal dollars it will be difficult for the province to take part in the project, but stresses it’s not final yet.
