It appears there’s some government movement on the Ring of Fire front.
Mines Minister Michael Gravelle says the province has formally applied for 1 billion dollars under the Building Canada Fund which would be the federal government’s contribution to getting the giant mining project off the ground.
The province has already committed 1 billion dollars and Gravelle says the federal contribution is vital to the project reaching its full potential.
Gravelle says he’s fired off a letter to Federal Natural Resources Minister Greg Rickford with the request and expects a meeting with him in the new year.
