Ontario’s Health Minister denies there are any shortages of the flu vaccine.
The NDP are reporting that some seniors are having difficulty getting high dose flu shots.
Christine Elliott says there might be some confusion as to where they can be immunized.
“In terms of the actual high-dose flu vaccine for seniors 65 years and older. It’s not for every person, but many seniors should get that one. It’s not available in pharmacies, but only at doctors offices.”
Elliott says the provincial government is spending about $54-million this year to purchase the flu vaccine, which should be enough to immunize about 30% of the population of Ontario.
