The Dryden Development Corporation is receiving just over $49,000 to strengthen the local economy.
The money is from the Provincial Northern Communities Investment Readiness program.
The funding will help the DDC conduct an inventory of cultural resources as well as identify housing needs in the community.
The DDC is also looking at creating a coalition of area food providers to promote the local agricultural sector as well as establishing an underground energy distribution system that delivers heat to buildings from a central plant.
The money will also help the City host potential investors.
