The provincial government is injecting over $11-million to build a new addition to the Atikokan General Hospital.
The money will also be used to renovate existing space which is designed, they say, to give patients better access to care.
In the end there will be four new acute care beds bringing the total to 15 and four new long-term care beds for a total of 26.
Construction is expected to be complete in the winter 2017.
