The Liberal government is providing funds to recruit teachers into Northern Ontario.
$70,000 is being provided to a recruitment campaign by Teach for Canada.
Executive Director Kyle Hill says the goal is to keep teachers in Northern classrooms for two or more years.
Hill says teachers will go through four weeks of training ahead of moving to a Northern community.
Teach for Canada is also providing them with 2 years of support such as mentorship and education resources.
Hill says teachers must meet certain criteria to qualify.
He notes they have already gotten a positive response from remote fly in communities.
