Government Funds To Strengthen Public Transit

A government investment is being made to strengthen public transit in Kenora-Rainy River.

The federal government is providing $123,694, while the province is on board with $103,068 in funding.

In Machin, the funds will be used to construct a bus storage shelter that will improve the quality and safety of a community bus.

The vehicle provides reliable transit services for seniors in the Vermilion Bay area.

In Kenora, the money is being spent on the purchase of a new handi-transit bus.

The municipality is also constructing a new bus garage.
