The MPP for Kiiwetinoong is calling on the Ford government to urgently support Bearskin Lake First Nation.
A state of emergency has been declared due to a COVID outbreak.
Half of the community has tested positive for the virus.
Sol Mamakwa says the First Nation is in crisis and their calls for help are being ignored by the province.
He stresses limited health resources are stretched to the breaking point and basic needs are going unmet.
“Families are worried for their loved ones and the emergency needs of the community are not being met.”
Mamakwa notes funding must be made available to fly in needed personnel and supplies.
