Trustees with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board say they would like to elect more than the 9-members that were elected in the last municipal elections.
The public school board has added schools in Pickle Lake, Savant Lake and Upsala and trustees feel more representation is needed.
Dean Carrie is the acting Chief Executive Officer and says unfortunately under the current legislation, they aren’t eligible to increase their trustee numbers.
The board has agreed to write to the Minister of Education and request additional trustees be elected in the upcoming municipal election.
