Public Board Welcomes Money for School Renewal

It’s too early to tell how much money the Keewatin-Patricia District
School Board will get to upgrade its facilities.
The Provincial Government has announced $280 million in funding
for school renewal but local officials haven’t received any specifics.
Director of Education Janet Wilkenson is pleased financial help is now
available and notes it will be put to good use.
Wilkenson says the Board has already identified $60-million worth of work that needs to be done.
She adds Trustees will have to start looking at the individual
needs of schools and decide how to allocate the funds.
