Public Feedback on Health Care System Released

More then 800-people from across the Region provided input on health care priorities in their community.
The Northwest Local Health Integration Network released the findings of the Share Your Story, Shape Your Care Study on Wednesday.
Program Lead Kristen Shields says 6-priorities were identified including access to primary care, access to specialty care, long-term care, using our health human resources more effectively and integration.
The LHIN heard several suggestions to develop a more integrated system including improved electronic health records, more nurse practitioners and transportation support.
Several respondents also commented on the need for better communication between the LHIN, Health Care providers and patients.
