The Consulting firm handling the Waterfront Development project at Van Horne Landing in Dryden is comparing the area to the Forks in Winnipeg.
Jeff Frank says the two sites are similar and notes it takes consider time to develop.
The future look of the Dryden waterfront was unveiled to the public Monday night.
Frank says the initial plan is Laura Howe Marsh upgrades, the addition of trails, the establishment of an Outdoor Education Centre as well as an outdoor public rest area.
Long term plans include a restaurant, commercial lots, hotel-spa, seasonal RV park, housing units, museum, bed and breakfast, a promenade and marina upgrades.
The multi-phased project is in the public consultation phase, with a final report expected before Council shortly.
