The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has approved the 2013-2014 budget.
The fiscal document shows a surplus of over $6,000.
Superintendent of Business Dean Carrie says the money will support teaching positions, professional development and supply teachers.
Total spending will be about $83.5-million, down about $1.7-million from this year.
Carrie says the budget also includes payment of loans of $15-million.
The loans were for previous capital projects.
Carrie says they will be borrowing roughly $893,000 from reserves this year to do work at Dryden High School, Red Lake High School as well as Lakewood and Beaver Brae School’s in Kenora.
