The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board will spend just over $105 million in the next school year.
That’s $2.6 million more than last year.
The public school board ‘Grants For Student Needs’ will increase by $4 million over last year, or 5.9%.
Other increases are $1.1 million to cover COVID costs and a 1.8% increase in federal tuition fees.
Expenses are also going up with $1.6 million more for salaries and benefits and $1.1 million for transportation.
Overall, enrollment at the KPDSB is expected to rise by 5.3% at the secondary level, offset by a decrease of less than one per cent at the elementary level.
Overall, enrollment is projected at just over 4,651 students.
