No more pencils, no more books.
That’s where the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is headed, with a completely new outlook on classroom instruction.
Director of Education Jack McMaster says getting ready for 21st century learning is very important.
At the Board’s November meeting in Dryden, Trustees were shown the new method of learning, with kids having access to laptops, SMART Boards and student-teacher blogs.
McMaster says students and teachers have embraced the move.
Her notes students can now find their daily assignments on-line and interact with teachers when they are not in the classroom.
McMaster says they have found that students grades and “will to learn” have improved with the new technology.
Future expansion includes having a laptop computer in the hands of students and SMART Boards installed in every classroom.
