A response from the Keewatin Patricia District School Board.
Director of Education Sean Monteith was sent a letter last week from Treaty 3 Grand Chief Warren White regarding sanctions against the Thomas Aquinas Saints junior boys basketball team.
Monteith was quick to point out the decision was not pushed by Beaver brae or the school board.
The letter also called into question the boards policies in working with Anishinaabe students.
Monteith noted the boards recognition from the ministry of education in supporting their nearly 2500 aboriginal students.
