Doctors, lawyers and school board officials led the list of the best paid public servants in the Kenora District last year.
The province released the 2006 public sector wage report
today and it shows the best paid civil servant was Dr. Kerry McDonald, who is the pathologist at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora. He earned 314 thousand dollars last year.
Dr. Pete Sarsfield, the medical officer of Health with the Northwestern Health Unit saw his salary increase to 201 thousand dollars in 2006.
Director of Education for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board, Janet Wilkenson collected 158 thousand dollars last year, while most principals with the public school board joined the 100 thousand dollar club.
