Testing for West Nile in this Region has concluded for another year
and it was an unusually quiet summer.
Northwestern Health Unit Spokesperson Al Mathers says he can’t
explain why only 7 birds tested positive for the virus this season.
Mathers says the mosquito trapping program worked well this year, but
he hopes to conduct more tests next summer.
All of the West Nile positive birds were located in Fort Frances.
