Quiet Weekend For Fire Crews

Despite concerns heading into the weekend of the potential for multiple lightning-caused fires, it was relatively quiet across Northwestern Ontario.
The Ministry of Natural Resources is reporting four new fires; two in the Fort Frances District, and one each in the Kenora District and Thunder Bay District.
There are currently four active fires in our region.
Scattered showers and high humidity helped knock down the forest fire hazard on the weekend.
The fire hazard remains moderate to high.
