Quit Smoking Results

242 smokers in the Northwestern Health Unit District managed to butt
out for a month for a chance to win a new Ford Mustang.
A 55-year-old from Wingham drove away with the vehicle as part of the
Ontario Quit Smoking Contest.
Health Promoter Barb Roussin says the initiative encourages smokers
to take the step from intention to action.
She says it gives smokers a quit date and helps them
build a support system to succeed.
Roussin says an application has been submitted to Health Canada to
offer the Contest again in 2006.
