Arenas across the region are adjusting rules for entering now that more COVID restrictions have been lifted.
Steve Belanger is Manager of Community Services in the City of Dryden and says proof of vaccination is no longer required and capacity limits have been lifted.
He notes masks are still mandatory.
In the arenas, they are required everywhere but on the ice surface including the lobby and visitors are asked to wait until they’re seated before consuming food or drink.
At the Pool and Fitness Centre, masks are required whenever you are moving about the facility and until you are actively using fitness equipment, participating in a class, or using the pool and showers.
Belanger adds, “We are very aware that there’s a lot of COVID in our community at the moment. We’re continuing to practice our due diligence here. Be mindful of personal space, six foot distances. We will be keeping our fitness class sizes at the 10 mark for the time being.”
Vaccination passports will no longer be required at the Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre, however capacity limits are being kept at 50% at the Arena and Fitness Centre at the strong recommendation of the Northwestern Health Unit.
The Cochenour Arena in Red Lake is now completely open to the public with no proof of vaccination.
The public is urged to be respectful of others as restrictions ease.
