Railway Safety Week

It’s Rail Safety Week and motorists can expect to see an increased presence of railway police in Northwestern Ontario.
CN Police Chief Stephen Covey says officers will be looking for people who don’t obey crossing signals or who trespass on rail property, which includes walking along the tracks.
Covey says he’s fed up with people putting their own lives, and the lives of others, in danger.
He notes CN’s “no compromise” policy means his officers will also enforce the Highway Safety Act, including offences such as speeding and not wearing seat belts.
