Some rain and cooler temperatures have dampened some of the forest
fires in Northwestern Ontario.
But one north of Thunder Bay still seems to be growing, after
quadrupling in size late last week.
Of nearly 300 active fires, about 200 are not under control, mostly
in the Southern portion of the district.
Meanwhile, residents of Remote First Nations in the North who have
spent the past couple of weeks in Greenstone due to heavy smoke will start
returning home Monday.
A restricted fire zone remains in effect across the Region.
