Special Weather Statement issued for Dryden, Vermilion Bay, Red Lake, Ear Falls, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Kenora areas.
A slow-moving front will arrive over Northwestern Ontario tonight and linger into Saturday night.
Showers and isolated thunderstorms will occur along this front. General rainfall amounts are expected to be in the 30 to 40 mm range. Locally higher amounts in excess of 50 mm will be possible with this event, especially for areas that receive multiple thunderstorms.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
On the other hand, this rainfall may help alleviate the forest fire situation.
