Rain Totals; Warm Weather On Its Way

The threat of heavy rain across the region came to fruition Thursday.

CKDR Meteorologist Bill Laidlaw says as of midnight, Fort Frances led the way with 35.4-millimetres.

Dryden recorded 34.3-millimetres, Atikokan 33.2 and Ignace received 20.8-millimetres of rain.

Laidlaw says the rain continued overnight so those totals will be higher.

He notes we can expect another 10 to 15-millimetres by midday Friday but the rain will taper of in the afternoon.

Laidlaw says after that a warm front will move into our area.

He says we will be over 20 degrees by Sunday.

Laidlaw adds we probably will be looking at highs in the mid-20’s for the first part of next week.

He says the next sign of rain is Thursday, September 18th.
