The water level on Rainy Lake is slowly dropping back into the rule curve set by the International Joint Commission.
Abitibi energy utilities coordinator Raimo Tyrvainen notes one spill gate is being closed for a total of 12 spill gates (of 15) remaining open
The move means the outflow from the dam is being reduced by roughly 40 cubic metres per second.
As the lake level drops, Tyrvainen adds spill gates will be closed to avoid drawing a low level to the upper section of Rainy River.
