Rainy River elementary teachers reach deal

First the public secondary teachers in the Rainy River District reached a deal with the school board and now it is the public elementary teachers turn.

A four-year tentative contract has been reached between the two sides retroactive to last September until the end of August 2008.

About 100 elementary teachers at 11 public schools can expect improved salary and working conditions.

Union officials will review the contract with teachers next week with a vote set for June 2nd while the school board is expected to vote on the deal June 7th.
