Rainycrest reopened to admissions

The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care has reopened admissions to Rainycrest Home for the Aged in Fort Frances.

Ongoing compliance issues forced the ministry to close the 135-bed home in February – shortly before Riverside Health Care Facilities was appointed interim administrator.

Riverside CEO Wayne Woods notes staff at the home have been doing a good job to meet provincial guidelines.

Woods adds the admissions process will be handled carefully to ensure the home is not overwhelmed and compliance issues are addressed.
