A former boy scout leader and Anglican Church minister who worked in northwestern Ontario during the late 1970’s and early 1980’s has been found guilty on seven more indecent assault charges.
Ralph Rowe was back in court Thursday.
He had been facing as many as 21 sexual assault charges, but six were dismissed prior to going to trial and he was found not guilty on eight other charges.
Rowe was found guilty of indecent assault on four young aboriginal boys on the Big Trout Lake and Bearskin Lake First Nations, but he may not have to service any additional jail time.
His lawyer, Robert Sinding says Rowe has already been sentenced to 10 and a half years in jail and has served seven years behind bars.
He has asked Justice Irwin Stach to hand Rowe a one year concurrent sentence to the one he’s already serving.
Rowe could be out on parole as early as this weekend, if he isn’t asked to serve any additional prison time.
