The province is acting on one of the Ipperwash report
recommendations by creating a seperate Ministry of
Aboriginal Affairs. But the Ontario Cabinet isn’t getting
any bigger.
The Premier has appointed Natural Resources Minister
David Ramsay who was already responsible for Aboriginal
Affairs.
Ramsay says the “new” ministry will have more clout.

The Government will also create a deputy minister of
aboriginal affairs to oversee the Ministry.
Ramsay says he’ll be meeting with Chiefs from across the
province next week.
