Hockey Canada has selected Dryden’s Randy Allen to help coach the Under-17 National team.
Allen calls it a great honour and a great opportunity to learn at a high level.
Allen says he will leave for Calgary in the coming days for a coaches seminar, before returning in July for the main camp.
He notes Hockey Canada invites coaches from each branch to come out and work with the high performance coaches involved with the Under 17-team.
Allen says it’s a learning opportunity, noting he’s always looking to improve himself as a coach.
Randy Allen is a coach with the Dryden Eagles Girls High School Hockey team, he runs the yearly Summer Hockey School and he’s in charge of the widely successful “Breakfast Club” during the winter.
He’s also heavily involved with Hockey Northwestern Ontario.
