RBC Out With Report On Distracted Driving

Distracted driving continues to be a major concern for municipal and provincial police.

A new survey conducted by the Royal Bank finds two-thirds of us admit to driving while distracted.

Auto Insurance Product Manager Natalie Dupuis says for many, driving is just an extension of their daily routines.

Dupuis suggests putting your phone out of sight when driving.

She believes adjusting your GPS and radio before you hit the road will help keep drivers focused on the road.

Dupuis adds distracted driving tickets can impact your insurance and license.

Examples pointed out in the survey include talking or texting on the phone, doing your hair, makeup or changing clothes, taking selfies and yes, even reading a book, all while driving!
